What is it?

Dear Chuck(les)

Today it snowed.
Sort of. It was tiny little pebbles of ice/snow. They bounced when they hit the ground, or me, for that matter. Not quite snow not quite hail. What is it called? I'm sticking to pebbles.

Lots of homework pilling up and I got into a fight with another student. Luckily he was from far away and has decided to go back so I don't have to deal with him anymore. He's trying out for his national quidditch team. Since this individual (who, if he was any thicker he'd be solid through) has been known to score on his own goal I am laying a fair galleon or 2 he doesn't make it.

Hogsmede weekend was interesting. I spent most of it in the tea shop. (Think Tim's with less doughnuts and more cucumber and a weed they call kress) Also don't order a double double otherwise you just get 4 cups of tea and a strange look. Bought you some candies to share with everyone else and a few things from the joke shops.

I'ed send you pictures of everything here but it all looks the same...blocked by piles of homework. It's not fun changing schools half way through your high school years that's for sure!!

Love to everyone and send me some Hershey's Candy Cane Kisses when they come out!

It isn't civilization without football.

Dear Lewis,

Thank you for being such a cleaver little wizard and figuring out how to send me Live NFL feeds. Truly they are a godsend. Even the muggle papers here don't cover the Colts and Giants! Heck I didn't realize that the Bills were 4-0 this season. And they were playing part of the season in Toronto!! It'll be amazing to finally have a home team, at least part time. It makes for some rough Monday and Tuesday mornings though. Well worth it. It's why they have coffee in the world.

School is ok. I'm falling behind somewhat, life outside school is non-existant. It's why I am so late writing, sorry. Yet still tho I am nowhere other than class or the library I feel like I am not getting ahead. I may have to drop an elective. Probably Magical Creatures. Especially as I am fairly certain 3 second years have already been eaten.

This weekend is Hogsmede. It's the only thing close to freedom we are likely to get until Christmas. With floo powder being cheap and plentiful here youéd think we could just go home at night or for the weekend. It's weird. Like a really cool and cheerful jail. The alternative is mom and 7...think I can stay here for Christmas?

I keep going to the infirmary with headaches. I think the matron (nurse, apparently you can't be married and a nurse here *shrugs*) thinks I am faking it. But really everything here is so loud. There are so many people, everything is magical and you never get to leave. I mean the lake has merpeople so I can't even go there. The forest is filled with unicorns, hippogriffs, centaurs.
It's deeply frustrating.

It's not all bad. Like I say the whole place is magical the students are pretty cool. Tho the trick is staying out of the midst of a ongoing prank war, watching from the sidelines is pretty fun though. I am in the duel club competition and made it to the second round. I met lots of fellow knitters, and am drinking some made of awesome tea. I got a point for my house for Quidditch but we didn't find the snitch. I am making friends. On the whole things are good just different.

Miss you all lots, Keep sending bits of home,
